By administering immediate care during an emergency you can help an ill or injured person before EMS(Emergency Medical Services) arrive. This course will teach you what to do when faced with an emergency and provide you with simple-to-follow steps designed to help you deliver care in different scenarios. Save lives by learning the appropriate care to provide first aid, breathing, cardiac emergencies, and gunshot wounds.

What you’ll learn

  • Basic life support (BLS) and why it is important
  • Wound dressing, and bandaging
  • Lifting and transporting people in an emergency situation
  • General aspects of cardiac arrests
  • How to perform one- and two-person adult BLS rescues and high-quality adult CPR and how to use an AED on adults and older children
  • How to recognize and handle opioid overdose emergencies.

  • Earn an American Red Cross First Aid Certification

  • Receive a YCCS Certificate of Completion
