Discover Your Inner Artist Workshop

Do you know the creative process of making art can improve your physical, mental, and emotional well-being? In this course you will create art without judgment, learn to use art for healing, meditation and relaxation. You will explore and learn basic art skills, through five art projects using acrylic paints and canvases, all while enjoying the process of art making.

Course Description

Week 1 – Graffiti Wall on canvas
Week 2 – A Canvas Painting Supporting a Cause to help
the Community (All will paint a ribbon, but the cause and colors will differ)
Week 3 – Wearable Art – (Design your own Baseball Cap)
Week 4 – Discuss goal setting and create a sign on wood canvas
personal “Why” it is important to reach that goal
Week 5 – Showcase
Each Student can invite a special guest. They will explain their genius and we will highlight and unveil their masterpieces.

Students who take/complete this course:

  • Earn a quarter credit in Art
  • Enjoy the benefits that creative art brings to our emotional and physical well being
  • Receive art supplies for the course
  • Opportunity to showcase your art to friends and family
  • Receive a YCCS Certificate of Completion
