Brain and Mind Awareness Using Music, Art and Aromatherapy

The brain is influenced by virtually every aspect of a person's life, including happiness, the type of music you listen to, the quality of your sleep, and your response to trauma. In this course, you will explore how happiness, music, meditation, sleep, play and lifestyle affect brain health. You will also learn about the various stages of health and illness and discover that true health means wholeness of the mind, body, and spirit. Earn a science credit while discovering ways to improve your total health and well-being.

Course Description

Students will explore ways to achieve total health in mind, body, and spirit using diet, hydrotherapy, positive attitudes, relaxation, yoga, chiropractic, natural remedies and more. You will explore the anatomy of the brain by creating a sculpture of the brain using wig heads and paint. You will also explore the healing power of aromatherapy for relaxation. By the end of this course, you will take charge of your own health and healing!

Students who take/complete this course:

  • Earn a quarter credit in science
  • Receive an aromatherapy kit for use at homeĀ 
  • Earn a certificate in Natural Health and Healing and/or a Certificate in Brain Health
  • Receive a YCCS Certificate of Completion
