Overview

YCCS has talent! We are conducting a star search for young people that have Bars for a chance to win first prize at the finale!! The 1st Place Champion will win $1,000, 2nd place – $500, and 3rd – $250! All YCCS students are eligible to enter the next YCCS Network Got Bars Competition. The top-3 entries will showcase their talent at the Got Bars Competition Finale!

Principals, Academic Advisors, Teachers & music enthusiasts are encouraged to help identify students to participate in the challenge and log on to scheduled Huddles held by network activity coordinator, Marlon Tobin for direction if needed.

Got Barz?!

This competition involves the writing of original lyrics of a rap with NO explicit lyrics at least 2 minutes in length. The student must be able to record themselves performing the rap and download to enter. The final three will be selected by popular vote and may have an opportunity to perform at the competition finale where our judges will select a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner!!!

Feb 22 – Mar 15 (Present competition to Principals/Schools, PowerAlerts To Parents & Students, Teachers & Advisors, Advisor Cop Presentations, Campus Promotional Tours)
Mar 1, Mar 8 & Mar 15 @ 2:30 pm – Weekly Huddles (Zoom) to promote engagement with coaching and tips for enhancing submissions and incentives for participants

How to Enter!

Entry period begins March 1st through March 29th – Sign-up by completing the Contest Form(Form) Label the submission with the following information: Your Name, School Name, Poster/Entry Title

Wk 2: Tue, March 15 – Due Date For Got Bars Competition Submissions (Complete Entry Form & Upload Files) ()

Wk 3L: Tue, March 22 – YCCS Got Bars Competition Contestants Reveal (Zoom Meeting: Popular Vote Begins for Top 5)

Wk 4: Tue, March 29 – 1st Round Voting Ends @ 12 pm (Zoom Meeting: Top 5 Contestants Revealed)

Wk 5: Tue April 5 – YCCS Bars Competition Finale Virtual Performance (Live Celebrity Judges)!
